Things to keep in mind before buying Diamond Necklace
There are certain things one must keep in mind before buying a diamond necklaces.
The 4 C’s
Color, Clarity, Cut, Carat Weight. The 4 C’s are the mantra of buying the best diamond for yourself.
As GIA states, “A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond has no hue, like a drop of pure water, and consequently, a higher value. GIA’s D-to-Z color-grading system measures the degree of colorlessness by comparing a stone under controlled lighting and precise viewing conditions to masterstones of established color value.”
Clarity determines the grading of the diamond. In the process of diamond formation, many inclusions are unavoidable in the diamond. The lesser the inclusions, greater the value of diamonds.
Cut is the reason the diamonds sparkle as they do. A diamond’s cut is perfected by the facets and how its facets interact with light. That is how the grading of the diamond is determined.
Carat Weight is the measurement of how much a diamond weighs. Each carat can be divided into 100 pointers and that is how the quality of the diamond is determined.
Bigger is not always the better
It is true. Bigger diamonds are necessarily not the better diamonds. The bigger the diamond is there are more chances of inclusions. So the clarity of the diamond is at risk and the value of the diamond declines.
The cost of diamond depends on the type and size of the diamond you are choosing and the metal that you are taking as base. If you opt for diamond with platinum it will be more expensive than silver or gold. If you opt for white gold it will be more expensive than yellow gold and so on. The starting range of a diamond mangalsutra is 40,000 INR. It can go as higher as you opt for, the higher the grade of your diamond, higher goes the rate!
